New Education Courses

The new education courses have commenced.  Module 1 was taken earlier this year and subject to demand will be repeated later this year along with subequent modules 2, 3, and 4.  Please contact Martyn Jones for more information.


New BTLIA Secretary

Martyn Jones is the new secretary of the BTLIA; Martyn replaces David Halford who sadly passed away.

Roger Davey is the new BTLIA Chairman; Roger is Managing Director of Irritech Limited, Independent Irrigation Consultants.


BTLIA Secretary David Halford Dies

 Friday, October 10, 2003
It is with great regret that I have to announce the untimely death of David Halford, Secretary of the BTLIA, on Monday 8th September, after a short illness.


His funeral took place at St Thomas Church Garstang on Tuesday 16th September; it was attended by around 250 people.

The BTLIA sent their condolences and David's Wife Margaret has sent this little letter in reply.

"Dear BTLIA members,

Please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation for the kindness shown to me and all of the family at this sad time.

David's sudden passing was a deadful shock and whilst it will take some time for me to come to terms with what has happened, I have drawn great strength from the support that I have received from his great many friends and the various organisations with which he was involved.

David's work with the BTLIA was very important to him and I sincerely hope that this can be continued by others
